Where to Start for Summit County Records

For a local jail release, start with the Summit County Sheriff's Office or Detention Facility. For the court reason behind a release, use Summit Combined Courts. For supervision after release, separate court probation from CDOC parole.

Use this list to choose the source that matches the custody or record type.

  • Finding a released Summit County inmate or requesting a release record: use the home page for the full search path and sheriff records-request steps.
  • Post-release supervision: use post-release supervision to separate Summit County Probation from CDOC parole.
  • Recent local releases: use the 24-hour releases page. Summit County Colorado did not have a confirmed official public 24-hour feed in the reviewed sources, so the page points to official alternatives.
  • Release date or release alert: use release date lookup for CDOC/BOP date context and VINE inmate check for Colorado VINE and VINELink notification paths.
  • Specific local facility question: use the Summit County Detention Facility page or the facility links in the footer.
  • State-prison sentence, parole, or discharge: use CDOC offender search and CDOC/parole channels, because a Summit jail transfer to CDOC is not the same as release into the community.
  • Federal custody: use the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator when the person was in BOP custody.
  • Immigration custody or ICE transfer: use ICE Online Detainee Locator System and the Denver Contract Detention Facility route when the facts point to ICE custody.
  • Custody-change notification: use Colorado VINELink online or Colorado VINE phone support at 1-888-263-8463.
